My husband was struck down with a flesh eating bacteria that hospitalized him for 2 months and some days. He had 2 surgeries in 2 days requiring removal of flesh down to the bone. His body began systematically shutting down; cells leaking fluid which resulted in severe edema-he looked like he was going to explode. As a result of the cells leaking it put pressure on his lungs and he required a breathing tube. He was in ICU for 11 days. I started a Novena to Padre Pio the day he went into the hospital. After an additional week in rehab he came home the other day.

He has wound care at home and is learning to walk all over again but he is alive. No  one really expected him to come out of that. As far as I'm concerned this is a true testimonial to the power of prayer and the intercession of Padre Pio. It is truly a miracle to bring someone back from the brink of death.
